Belgium
Anticipating royal decree for registering of the homeopathic association as complementary medicinal. This is taking a year time with the active support of ECCH. In April 2005 a fair of health will take place and will be used for advertising forum of the WHAW.
Croatia
Preparation for the next AGM of ECCH in Split and participating in the global happening –the WHAW. Work on creating a patients organization.
A committee for CAM in the Ministry of legal affairs is founded, consisting of expert consultants from each CAM. The homeopathic organization will make a proposal for legislation of homeopathy in the country.
Checks republic
Working on educational standards with proposal for cooperation among the several schools in the country.
A very good collaboration with the Slovac organization and holding together International seminars.
Denmark
DSKH- the homeopathic organization is a member of a bigger umbrella organization of all CAMs. Homeopaths are struggling for the title ”registered CAM practitioner”. Just now a national project for researching the efficacy of homeopathy is running. Because of the growing popularity of homeopathy some patients organizations have made contacts with DSKH.
Germany
A homeopathic register is being created now and already 110 homeopaths, 25 teachers and 5 schools have received registration. Still supervisors are not sufficient. A campaign for contacting politicians, health ministry and producers of homeopathic and antroposophic medicines has been started according to the changing pharmaceutical situation. Together with ECHAMP perspective ideas about nosodes are being developed.
The homeopathic organization will become a member of The European natural medicine association ANME.
Ireland
CPD in 2 levels-before and post registrating is discussed. 2 Schools apply for accreditation-Irish school of Homeopathy and Irish College of Homeopathic medicine.
The Minister of health has pointed as first step towards integrating of health system-the regulation of CAM sector. This process has to be finished by 2005. Homeopaths,as everywhere, have higher level of organization than the rest CAMs.
Phase 3 of the simplified registration scheme for homeopathic medicine products and registration of single animal remedies has just been launched.
The homeopathic organization has made a proposal to the Health and children minister for allowing of extemporal forms 4x to 30c to be without prescribtion.
In September 2003 a National day for homeopathy was organized and in 2004 a whole national week!
Italy
The National federation for homeopathy is struggling for legislation. It joined the Permanent Council for CAMs under the register of psychologists and counselors. Also joined the National committee for creating new professions
Norway
Homeopaths receive for the first time the title ”registered homeopath” and the Norway Homeopathic association is the only CAM association accepted in the public register of CAMs.
Poland
The first officially registered school in homeopathy has opened doors.
Portugal
The government has invited four homeopathic organizations for collaboration in making the law for CAMs
Serbia and Montenegro
Basic and CPD courses are run in the country with colleges from Belgium, LICH and Germany. CAM s are forbidden in private clinics.
The Serbian association together with ECCH chairman were accepted by the Minister of health and legislation of homeopathy was delegated to them.
Spain
The Spanish association for classical homeopathy discusses ethical standards and applies for membership in ECCH. On a meeting in the Canary islands in October a decision was taken for conducting education in 2 levels-fist one year for Apprentice homeopath and second level Professional homeopath(another 2 years studying).
Sweden
In spite of the protests of SAKH homeopathy is still forbidden for pregnant women and children under 8.
Members of the Parliament from various parties have made a network for CAMs-doctors and non doctors participating and homeopaths as well.A register is being worked on similar to that in Denmark and Norway
Switzerland
A national homeopathic exam is there in this country. By the end of the year a project for appreciating the cost effectiveness of CAMs (homeopathy, ajurveda, acupuncture and anthroposophic medicine) is finishing. After it the Parliament will have to decide which forms will be included in the insurance scheme.
UK
The Society of Homeopaths SoH succeeded in changing the system for registering-now graduates can apply for registration right away.
The Council of organizations registering homeopaths CORH is fighting for a united national volunteer and self-regulating register of the homeopaths.
Together with ECCH a 28 pages consulting document will be delivered to every homeopath January 2005 and will become the basis of this register.
